Tip O the Mitt Songwriters
The Tip O The Mitt Songwriters is a collective of musicians in the “Tip O The Mitt” or, more accurately, the tip of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula from Mackinaw City south through the Grayling area. The collective was formed in 2019 by Petoskey-based songwriters and performers Sean Miller and Kevin Johnson. The idea was to form a group of songwriters that could meet frequently to share songs and stories and to set up shows together as a group.
Together, the main touring members of the collective, also bring a number of accolades including multiple WYCE Jammie Award nominations, Michigan Music Video Awards nominations and more. Some of the included songwriters have also been finalists in the Rocky Mountain Songwriting Contest and the Telluride Bluegrass Festival Troubadour Contest.
The Tip O The Mitt Songwriters will feature Kevin Johnson, Eliza Thorp and the groups amazing talented friend Mike Ward at this year’s Forest Trail Music Festival.
